INFINITY was produced, arranged and mixed by Gaspard Murphy, all songs (except “Count My Blessings” co-written by Olivier Durand) written by me in a surprising flurry of creative activity last year. The album was recorded nearby at Murmure studio in Paris with contributions by my musical partner for 29 years virtuoso guitarist Olivier Durand, violionist Melissa Cox and percussionist Alan Fatras with double-bassist Gerard McFadden on one track. Keyboards, electric bass, drum programming and additional instrumentation were all handled by Gaspard Murphy and Elliott.
Elliott says: “Where do you go after a 50 year career in music and as many albums? I suppose INFINITY is the answer and thus the title of my 52nd (I think) album which will be released as a limited edition CD on March 7 just in time for my tour of France/Belgium/Spain and Italy (via Cruise ship). It’s my first studio album of original songs since Wonder (2023) and in these very recent family of songs I tried to peer into the future while being grounded in the icons of my youth all wrapped in a diverse genre defying musicality. Hopefully, it’s a personal collection that will appeal to the universal musical collective consciousness. That’s been my modus-operandi since my debut album Aquashow (1973).”
Track Listing:
1. Granny Takes A Trip

3. Baby Boomers Lament
4. The Lion in Winter/The End of the Game
5. Fetch Me Water
6. Three Shadows
7. Makin’ It Real

Wonder was produced and mixed by Gaspard Murphy and is Elliott’s first real studio album of original songs since 2017 Prodigal Son. Besides his long-time cohort Olivier Durand (who has now been playing guitar with him for more than half his career!) the album features (among others) Melissa Cox on violin and Alan Fatras on drums along with a special guest appearance of the incredible BJ Scott on backing vocals.
Elliott says: “Why WONDER? Well … because it’s my first post-Covid album and because I wrote (or co-wrote with Olivier Durand) most of the songs on the album during the dark early days of the pandemic. The album begins with ‘Hope (In Your Eyes)’ and ends with ‘I Know There’s A Place’ so I think you can rest assured that there is an optimistic message within this new batch of songs although there are also tracks such as ‘Raindrops,’ ‘Hailstones’ and another one-word title ‘Lonely’ which convey a plethora of emotions like those we’ve all been dealing with since this nasty virus decided to become our long-term global roommate.”
